Even though the fees for a stall in this market are  much higher than the outdoor morning market, this covered market provides some protection for shoppers and vendors from the bitter cold and wind and the fee entitles the vendors to sell all day:

During the low season in April, there wasn't much available from the local farmers -- a few cabbage, turnips (which have a red and white streaked flesh), leeks, ginger, garlic.

But dried forest mushrooms were plentiful with intriguing names like "wood ears", "silver clouds" and "monkey head".  During late summer,  these same varieties are available fresh, harvested from the woods surrounding the city.
